SENESENCE HAS CRIPPLED FRUITING ABILITY?
    #8015542 - 02/12/08 10:27 PM (15 years, 11 months ago)

hey guys

quick question for ya and a "pre thanks" for your response

i have done many many grain to grain transfers with the same strain just to x out the inoculation process which i havent had much luck with in the 1st place...

g2g is pretty successful for me except the fact that my casings wont ever fruit...

i was talkin to someone on the shroom chat and he/she suggested that senesence through g2g has stiffled my mycelia's "fruiting ability"

i have probable done 20 to 30 g2g transfers without any new inoculation

could this be the problem?

to avoid your question of my fruiting environment. many methods have been tried for fruiting.. none which work.

is this possible?
thanks!

lay out your steps. we don't know what to tell you unless you let us know how your rolling atm. How do you trigger fruiting? What are you fruiting in? etc etc.

Start from spawning to waiting for pins.

i have several other threads with my set up all ready

b+ incubating and growing in milo in 1pt jars

usually cased to vermiculite and placed in tubs with all conditions for fruiting .

switched from several diff 50/50's and just plain verm.. no pinning.

after losing so many to either contam or NO fruiting i switched fruiting environment to a martha that i also have started a thread about.

i was trying to ask some people why i cant ever get fruits ( have been trying for 4 months) and a forum leader chipped in and told me it could be "senesence" because i always keep my cycles going through g2g - so is this why i never get fruits.. ive worn out the dna for fruit production cuz ive done too many g2g?

i have stressed other options way to much .. and still no fruit

it is possible a non-fruiting mycelium from a multi-spore inoculation colonized your jar.

I once inoculated 32 pint jars with what I believed to be a very aggressive sub-strain only to find myself wasting lots of time an bird seed
