The designation is given to the one who "for better or for worse, ...has done the most to influence the events of the year."
They are not claiming the person's influence is a good one just that they are the most influential. Hence Hitler and Stalin made the list.

so obama supports mass murder by having a flag of che in his office? i guess my spanish teacher does too! how dare she subliminally teach everyone of her students to support mass murder by having a che poster on the wall and teaching us about him on top of it all. my god i know realize what a crazy psycho bitch she really must have been for supporting mass murder.
so mccain must = satan because i clearly remember him saying we need to escalate the war in iraq and the war on terror because we are "fighting an enemy that wants to kill each and every one of us". yummy. fear politics, gotta love it.
yeah, lets cut the bullshit. if you vote based on flag choice then you need to stay at home come November. that is unless you think this is some sort of fruedian slip by obama, in which case i guess it is a good thing obama did cocaine since that crazy psychoanalyst thought it was a cure for basically everything.

no, it was just an example of how everyone and their uncle has a che poster/shirt/hat/pin and obama supporters are no different. lets not forget our very own government has funded plenty of mass murdering jackass throughout history. saddam hussein comes to mind along with osama bin laden and taliban. my god i wonder who was in office while those things happened? hmmmm could it have been john muthafuckin mccain? yeah it was. j. mccain also thinks vietnam was a "just war. i wonder who the real supporter of mass murder is in this election? it sure isn't obama.

No one here believes Obama approved of this, or even knew of it. But it does show just what kind of people fall for his line of crap -- those who idolize Commie murderers.
The main thing to note about this is the way the MSM handles it -- dead silence. Even from the supposedly Fascist Fox Network who filmed the scenes with no comment whatsoever. Imagine the reaction if a McCain campaign office had a poster of Pinochet or the flag of Myanmar on his wall. Would that go unremarked? Fuck no. There'd be reporters dogging his heels for a week asking him over and over and over again when he was going to apologize to Chilean Americans, and how soon those campaign workers would be fired.

The Obama workers were not paid employees- they were volunteers.
MSM is probably not covering it because it is irrelevant. The only people peddling this non-story are right-wing nutjobs.

Bullshit. MSM is not covering it because it's the Obamessiah. If volunteer workers at McCain's Houston headquarters had put up a Confederate flag and a poster of Pinochet, do you think the MSM would ignore it? Fuck no. Anyone who pretends otherwise is either lying through their teeth or too naive to survive long in this harsh world.

Is FOX news covering Flag-gate?
If the flag was displayed at an official Obama campaign office you might have something. That would suggest at least tacit approval. That is simply not the case here and makes all the difference in the world.
This non event is utterly irrelevant and unworthy of coverage by any respectable news outlet. They won't touch it with a ten foot pole. Only partisan propagandists and bloggers are pushing this garbage.
If, as some here have admitted, Obama did not approve of the flag then what are you left with? Claiming that one of Obama's supporters is a nutjob so guilt by association?
You don't think EVERY campaign, democrat and republican, has the normal distribution of nutjobs, racists, alchoholics and every vice under the sun?
Don't kid yourself.
