The interesting thing about that campaign office -- there is not just the one Che Cuevara Cuba flag, there are two of them. That's right, folks -- two of them.
This isn't just a casual "let's hang this poster on the wall because this guy looks kind of handsome and my teenage daughter wears his t-shirt" kind of deal, this is two (not one, two) flags (not posters or T-shirts, but flags of a Communist regime -- one hung alongside an American flag) considered important enough by one of the staffers to display it proudly alongside the obligatory Obama photo. It's not as if the walls of the office are plastered with stuff -- there's basically just the flags and the Obama photo. It's pretty much like someone stating, "Here's what's important to us -- Obama, Castro's Cuba, and a vicious murdering thug."
Did Obama know his Houston supporters honor a terrorist in his campaign office? I'm sure he didn't. However, it would be a smart move for him to have those flags taken down and renounce any affinity for Che and the Fidel Castro regime. He's already perceived by many as too much to the left for their comfort. This doesn't help.

> The fact that some of you can vote scares me.
Nah. At least the people on the forums that can vote are smart enough to use a computer and are participating in political discussion. Think about all the people that simply vote for whoever the media tells them to vote for without knowing anything more than he is black, she is (mostly) a woman, he hates "gooks", etc... those are the voters that scare me.
> Does anyone really think this is important.
Apparently so, otherwise we wouldn't be discussing it. What would happen if McCain had an Idi Amin poster or two hanging on his walls... people would be throwing a fit.

Or if a McCain campaign office in Virginia had a Confederate flag hanging next to the American flag.

I doubt he had anything to do with these particular flags, and they have probably been removed by now.

How ironic that this is a campaign volunteer office of a candidate standing for office in a free election, and it's decorated with the flag of a nation that hasn't had a free election in three generations.......

What's funny is this was not an official Obama campaign office at the time the photos were taken. Some volunteers had come in advance and put their stuff in there before the official campaign workers arrived from Obama headquarters. I am sure the flag was promptly taken down at that time.
It's good to know the Republican smear machine is warming up.
Anything but focusing on the issues.

Down here in Texas many Latinos, esp young activist ones, wear Che T-Shirts and apparently they have a very different opinion about him than some of the posters here do.
As does Time magazine. Who listed him in their Heroes and Icons Section of the 20th Century's Most Influential People!
I guess Time magazine is now communist propaganda! I'll be sure to tell my grandma.
Also, notice the peace flag next to the Old Glory behind the volunteer? Do you really think this woman, answering phones, or Obama himself, is ALL ABOUT communist mass murderers?
Think about it.
This is a non-issue. But poking holes in it sure is fun!

"Despite the controversies, Guevara's status as a popular icon has continued throughout the world, leading commentators to speak of a global "cult of Che". A photograph of Guevara taken by photographer Alberto Korda[164] has become one of the century's most ubiquitous images, and the portrait, transformed into a monochrome graphic, is reproduced endlessly on a vast array of merchandise, such as T-shirts, posters, cigarettes,[165] coffee mugs, and baseball caps largely for profit. This fact led Argentine business analyst Martin Krauze to postulate that: “The admiration for El Che no longer extends to his politics and ideology. It’s a romantic idea of one man going to battle against the windmills, he’s a Quixote.” While British journalist Sean O’Hagan has described Che as “more Lennon than Lenin”. Taking the opposite hypothesis, Mexican commentator and Che Biographer Jorge Castaneda has proclaimed that: “Che can be found just where he belongs in the niches reserved for cultural icons, for symbols of social uprisings that filter down deep into the soil of society.” [166] The saying "Viva la revolucion!" has also become very popular and synonymous with Guevara.[167][168]"
Yawn. You're wasting my time, son.
