I just finished reading the book "Into the Wild" and i must say, WOW! some people on this earth are really driven and very very unique, i mean why do beautiful souls like Chris McCandless aka Alex Supertramp have to die, while people like Paris Hilton get to live and never know such passion or love for life as what he had?!
Seems rather unfair. Anyway, i think everyone should read it even if you aren't into wildly traveling about its still a magnificent read
and for you vampire lovers out there read "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova WOW!

Great book. The film disappointed me though. A local movie critic said it best: Sean Penn's approach is high on intensity, low on irony.

In the movie, yes, but also later editions of the book. There was new information about his cause of death after it was initially published. Jon Krakauer now believes he died from the toxic effects of some roots he ate.

i really liked the book, the part about the berries makes sense, i mean he was a pretty bright guy, with a beautiful soul, its not like he was one of those confused idiots who walked into the wild to get away from it all he was smart, and he tried, granted he made a fatal mistake, i can guarantee that 99% of the people in america could not survive in the wild for more than a week
meh maybe i'm wrong but i thought it was amazing Kraueker's writing style isn't my favourite but its not as bad as JD Saligner (sorry for any catcher in the rye fans) who is so irritating and repetitive
anyhoo i haven't seen the flick yet dunno if i'm gonna from the reviews i've read on it
mmmm who knows?
