well, is there? im not really wanting to grow them as i have many locally, but they seem like an amazing mushroom, and i just wanted to know if anyone at all has had success at growing them.............according to sporeworks there is a very small chance you can water the spores around the base of a pine tree and they might take, this seems a little hopeful to say the least, I know that they need a mycorhizal relationship with the tree, but does that mean you cant grow them on agar at all? dunking the roots of a baby pine tree in the spores seems to be a little more promising, but i just want a basic idea of how hard cultivating these things really is....................
I haven't tried this but I have heard that it works. Supposedly Amanita muscaria mycelium will grow on a standard potato dextrose agar made from fresh potatoes. I have no information regarding the activity of the lab grown mycelium compared to the actual mushrooms.
