I dig it but haven't gotten around to probing around the genre much. I have some Antibalas, maybe some other stuff i cant remember.

I live afro beats, Bob Marley, Katchafire a heap more but i have pretty much fully converted to punk now. Havent heard my afro-cds in ages....

i started listening with antibalas and then found out about fela kuti which would be the father of the style, definately turned out to be one of my favorite genres

there was some band recently called the chicago afrobeat project.... kind of lame IMO though.

Afrobeat is simply the best. I love Fela and Antibalas of course.

I also have some Tony Allen to get around to.

Djembe is also great. I love Adama Drame.

Ethiopian Jazz is also good. There is Mahmoud Ahmed and a whole bunch of other guys I don't know (fortunately they are all in the Ethiopiques CD set).
