Almost killed my PC

I was just using my PC to steam sterilize some LCs and thought there would be enough water in it. When I went to check on it there was no water left. I poured some cold water in and cooled it down. I was kinda scared that I had ruined it but it looks fine. There is a bit of discoloration in the inside towards the bottom, but it was like that when I got it used. I was just wondering if any of you have actually killed your PCs and what it looks like. What about leaving an empty PC on the stove too long makes it unusable?

Be careful pouring cold water on hot metal. You can get flash steam which can be dangerous, and or crack the PC. I imagine, other than explosions, that cracking is how most PCs are destroyed.

I did the same thing to a Mirro PC a while back and the bottom of the PC warped. It wouldn't sit flat on the stove after that. It also stunk like burnt popcorn.

I'll keep that in mind for next time... if there is a next time, which I hope there isn't. I think it made it out all right. Its an older AA 921, and those things are damn near bombproof. On another note, does anyone know why it gets dark near the bottom? I assume its because that is where the water level is... but don't really know the specifics.

Metal discolors like that from normal and especially excessive heating. It is called heat tint.
