Stop worrying. You mean fruit chamber, not incubating/colonization? Because during that stage they need NO light. But fruiting, 12 hours of indirect sunlight or room light is fine.

what id really like to know is if setting up a flourescent with a 6500k color range on a programmable dimmer to simulate the natural lighting of the sun rising and setting would have any effect.. for better or worse

that is my high question of the night
(any empirical evidence would be appreciated)

The only people I ever take advice from are RR, agar, hyphae.

6500k is best bet 12/12...Makes quite a big difference between that and just a regular 25w philips
