you need specified curing conditions for tobacco.

I know how the farmers around here(KY) cure their tobacco by asking around..and honestly...I wouldn't called it specified curing conditions.

how do they do it?

I am growing Kentucky burley and rustica for the first time this year. You curing and flavoring methods are interesting. I will let you guys know how mine turns out.

They hang up the tobacco in huge barns for months until it starts getting about under 45-50 degrees constantly. Then they age it for years. They have to make sure that the humidity and everything is in check though.

I'm talking about curing in a much smaller time frame :P

I'd remove that, I got a warning for posting the same link by mistake.

:frown:

I tried to warn you.

I hope you didn't link that because I did, that would make me guilty through association.

basically you want to maintain 54 celcius and humidity.

I don't plan to build one anymore because I quit smoking, but I might make a drawn up tek and post it if there is interest.

dude, copy and paste posts are useless...

if YOU could find it then other people CAN TOO. and basically you add a shitload of useless info to the thread when doing that. things you could easily avoid by writing some yourself.

newbies: you don't need a tek. curing = leaving in a room with high humidity and high temperature, the tobacco will sweat bad smells out. just be careful as it absorbs smell easily(plastic container = plastic smell)

so for a good tasting tobaccy or cigs or cigars, how long would someone need to cure, and which process is best?
