I'm a quitter.

I have an 18 year, pack a day history. Started at age 18. I started Chantix a week ago, but didn't cut down my habit as recommended. Tried to quit Saturday, then Sunday, but nothing doing.
This morning I managed to get out of the house with a cup of coffee and a bong hit; the third member of the morning trinity was absent! Wooooo hooooo! It's now after lunch and I haven't smoked a cig, freaked out, or grabbed a hold of anyone by the throat, so I guess it's going OK, at least today. No beer tonight after work though. Butts will get way too tempting after a couple beers.
I think it's fair to say the Chantix does successfully take the edge off without any shitty side effects, at least in my case. Your experience with the pretty blue pills from our friends at Pfizer Labs may vary.
It's not easy, but I am done with being a slave to R. J. Renolds.
Sorry for the rant, but I needed it. See you all around. SB

Two months is the full course of treatment. Sounds like it didn't work for you, though?
Day two starting for me. So far all is good. Chantix and natural herbal remedies are keeping me sane.
Hey, speaking of staying sane, I am going to do the nightclub thing this weekend. Has anyone heard anything about Chantix/MDMA contraindications? I posted this question in ODD a while ago here, but never got any real info. Maybe I'll have better luck in the pub...
Happy trails, SB

R.J. Renolds. Ew.
But good job holding out on a cigarette, man. There was a period where I tried to quit.
I failed miserably.
