On being a couch potato

I hold that it is very socially responsible.
1. One requires less food than, oh say, a long distance runner.
2. One puts out less carbon dioxide than an active person.
3. Generally the only driving done is to the corner store for more Doritoes and a new video - so less environmental impact than a commuter.
4. Not as likely to be married - hence helps keep runaway population in check.
And so much more...

Kind of like my post on the virtue of procrastination.

We have the makings of a new religion with great mass appeal.
We shall give our flock permission to be lazy and fat instead of making them feel guilty.

What about all the gaseous emissions? Dangerous for the ozone.

My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

Can one be a 'true' couch potato without bean dip? I will have to contemplate this further...

The next step in human evolution is big, fluffy pillow shaped butts, and long, elastic arms that can reach out of the living room to the kitchen and into the fridge.

This is only a prerequisite for a beaner.

I pipe the methane to an indoor furnace that heats my house and runs my gas stove.

I prefer Funyuns over Doritos.

I can tell you know of what you speak as they use 'onion flavor' in place of real onions. Good call and welcome to CPA!

Hey, we live in a world where lemonade is made with artificial flavor and furniture polish is made with real lemon juice.

So one should spritz some seltzer water with Lemon Pledge for a refreshing drink?

Being a couch potato is a risky hobby. It entails many dangers. Coronary/artery disease, obesity, diabetes, and slow degradation of mental function are just a few of the dangers these brave adventurers face for the pursuit of their passion.
