well that cake has been in the FC for a few days and ive noticed white fuzz lookin growth on the bottom where there was a little extra vermiculite does this look like contam or just fuzzy mycelium growth? it is the exact same color as myc and has no smell that i can tell at least its at the bottom of the cake kinda hard to see in the pic...and yes i know the cake is not 100% colonized but the myc growth stalled and i jus wanted to see if it would fruit

beautiful looking cake, friend
you should have rolled it in vermiculite though
doesn't look like cobweb to me; my cakes get fuzzy like that on the bottom too. it's probably from there being a little extra moisture down there

thanx for the fast response guys...i have a few other cakes that have been completely covered on the outside for about 4-5 days now so im pretty sure they should be colonized all the way thru the cake do u think i should put them in FC with this cake? cuz since this one is not 100% colonized i dont want it to get contam and then contam my other cakes that are 100% colonized

pics are a little blurry but here is my cake that is like 95% colonized there is a TINY spot on the top(the pic makes it look bigger than it really is) where u can still see a LITTLE bit of brown verm but its partially covered with myc(bottom pic)...its been just like this for about 4 days now and im pretty sure its getting knots in it as i can see mycelium clumps beginning to form and one looks like it may even be turning brownish into a pin(top pic) do u think i should dunk it tonight and put it in FC tomorrow?

give it three more days to a week to let the mycelium grasp a better hold of the substrate.
even if you dont, it might be another week before it starts pinning anyways so just leave it in the jar for about a week and then birth it.

Yo,
been awhile since I been here but give it a few days like said before. They always fluff up a bit after birth. That fluff is a good sign of humidity, otherwise they'd be dry and not searching out with the external hyphae shiznit....
you're good for landing.
