"the rabbit hole"
    #8004724 - 02/10/08 01:38 PM (15 years, 11 months ago)

the deeper you go the darker it gets?

conscious realizations of autonomous archetypal powers in the psyche...

what (in your words) is the "rabbit hole"?

The rabbit hole is that dark place in the hills outside of town where you go in case you see through the Game of Civilization. Each culture has one. Though few may feel driven to go exploring outside of city walls, the call will come through in any way it can find. :hypno:

I don't agree. It's not that black and white. The rabbit hole is amazing if you don't freak out.

Yeah, the rabbit hole is a novel idea. Once you try and step outside of the human culture and basic programs then things start to waver and one loses a solid grip on the personality structure. What ever is outside of the human cultural perspective is the unknown. I think?

I'll go with that notion.

Sometimes I think about how we have been claiming all this land on Earth and sticking flags in the ground and putting up borders and all that jazz; yet still, I feel that there might also a kind of psychic terrain that has its own mountains and molehills still untouched by territorial endeavors. If this reflects some truth then I would assume that this is a realm that can be accessed linguistically and with the aid of DMT.

There are many rabbit holes.

We couldn't say exactly where all the rabbit holes are and how deep they go, but I can sure as hell tell you that they are not in our TVs, in schools, mass media, etc... They're around.. but we're conditioned not to look.

And it fuckin pisses me off that to go down the rabbit holes is not valued in society and if you do you are ridiculed and considered "weird".

I think it's a fear thing. People are afraid of the unknown and are uncertain about what doors may be opened if rabbit hole exploring was encouraged.

The scary thing is when you go down the hole and relize how much you don't matter. And how you didn't care that you didn't matter while gone. Like your just a person in a tv show and the ones who really matter are watching you. I once broke through to the other side and and it felt so normal, like I was always supposed to. And my previous life no longer mattered.

I don't care about others opinion about me.  I care more about the group minds opinions on the subjects themselves.  It pisses me off that certain paradigms are not embraced and labelled with "DO NOT TOUCH".  This is not about me its about us, man.  We need to evolve :plur:

Your awareness is nothing more or less than a council of archetypal drives seated in your brain, running affairs based on a huge list of "needs." We're all the same mind when it comes down to it, we simply each have a different relationship with the universe.

Where the hell did Jesus come from?

I can definitely relate to this.

I found you can reach a point where you just want to return to being normal.

After dissolving your entire sense of self through hallucinogens for several hours, you can eventually think that those all familiar and often automated parts of life are somehow keeping us sane.

Sometimes I have the feeling that I'm not ready for some of the revelations into the human psych that hallucinogens have shown me. They blown my mind so much that I've had to stop thinking about them to maintain sanity!

No sense of self = no desire. No desire = no wish to go anywhere.

Thats true,

But I said AFTER the experience.

Its that point where you can't think anymore. Your minds been blown so much that you don't want to do psychedelics again!

When I was younger I was eager to blow my mind and learn as much as possible but I think you can go to far. Theres only so much our minds can comprehend (or mine at least!).

I'm sure some people here can relate to this thought.

I would trip every day if I could but I'm only 19 so I got a long way to go.

You can't trip every day because of cross tolerance :strokebeard:

That's why I said if....

When I first started tripping I wasted a quarter eating it after I ate an 1/8 the previous day

The rabbit hole is really not that deep.
Depends on if you like stacking blocks or are more of a faith type.

Mind the stars on the bottom sir.

Oh, and once you get to the end its like you never moved.
Either that or schizophrenia which is manageable but literally hell.
I wonder what could have made the trip smoother for me. A map??

On second thought...
Its not worth it, imo.
Its just rabbit hole after rabbit hole.

ahh, the wit astounds. :sun:

I have a rather pronounced dent near the top of my skull, I used to get horribly paranoid that LSD was hurting my brain.

The deeper you go, the brighter it gets but at times, it's too bright, sending too much information to the senses.

the rabbit HOLE is the event horizon for sequence:

you could say it is where time AS WE KNOW IT ceases to function.

anything from any moment can exist with anything from any other moment
- time becomes elastic
- space becomes branched in uncanny ways.
imagination is unshackled.

"imagination is unshackled."

Yikes is all I can say.
When your compass is not pointed properly you might as well jump on the ass end of a shovel and start backfilling the gaping cavern of darkness that reveals itself.
Mental torture filter engaged.
Balance.
Burn.

I believe the man in that picture misspelled 'Moranis'.

“Strengthened by contemplation and study,
I will not fear my passions like a coward.
My body I will give to pleasures,
to diversions that I’ve dreamed of,
to the most daring erotic desires,
to the lustful impulses of my blood, without
any fear at all, for whenever I will—
and I will have the will, strengthened
as I’ll be with contemplation and study—
at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”
