Questions before inoculation

Ok so this is the tek I am using.
http://www.fungifun.org/English/Pftek#a5
The first problem I encountered was finding Vermiculite the only bag I could get my hands on I believe is fine grade. So when I was mixing up the BRF and the Verm last night I wasn't really able to gauge the correct ammount of water (atleast the way they tell me too). The water just soaked into it and eventually if I put in too much it turned into mud water puddle.
So I did a second batch and just kinda eyeballed it giving my best guess. I then put the substrate into 8 1/2 pint jars and put them in my pressure cooker for an hour.
Today I plan on injecting the spores but when I got my room all set up to do it in and I opened up my pressure cooker I noticed that the substrate inside of the jars appeared more wet than I thought it would. There isn't any water pooled up in it or anything like that but it just looks pretty wet.
So I guess my question now is, should I start completely over or can I go ahead and inoculate the jars today? Then my secondary question is, I have 4 spore syringes (B+, Golden Teacher, Treasure Coast and Mazatapec) which one should I try first?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

Well i dunno about the tek you used keep it simple and use what is on the site that is here the best pf tek i have seen is RR's video availanle on youtube it gives your the measurements you use so take a look at that and determine if you need to restart. As for the syringe i see alot of people like the B+ its a personal preference i hear people say its easier for beginners but I myself am not to sure i deal with koh samui and creepers so far. But check out the video it will help and read the forums there is lots in here about the pf tek

Just to let you know alot of people dont like to pots on topics that have been covered a million times, and will tell you to follow a tek off of this site as to what to chose you can see that there is a strain thread correct well you can read that whole thread and the biggest thing you will learn is a cube is a cube, everyone has personaly prefences and if you look up each type you have you will find information on each grow logs such and such so make sure you do research its the best part of the hobby you cant rely on someone to make your decisions for you. hehehe you goto try em all someday so find the one with the coolest name and gow with that hahahah :P

For correct water content with PF Cakes, make your mixture, add the water and if it starts puddling up, use a colander and let it drain for a couple moments until the excess water is gone, this will mean that you substrate is at full capacity.
I think you will be fine, go ahead and inoculate them and see what happens. The first grow is always a learning experience. No matter how much research you do, you will always have something happen that you didnt read about. Thats why we are here.

Different grades of verm can hold different amounts of water. The fine grade, I think, holds a little more water than medium grade. If you are mixing it up after you added the water and you see no puddle on the bottom, add a little more water and remix. Continue doing so until you see a small amount of water collect on the bottom of the bowl when you tilt the bowl a little. Then you will know there is a little too much water in there.
As the poster above said, strain it for a few minutes and mix in the brf. I realize you are past this stage but that is what you should be doing when you are mixing.
If you took the jars out of the pc and they look really soggy, I would start all over. A little extra moisture shouldn't hurt, though.
Good luck.

Thanks for the responses guys. I actually just went ahead and did it all over again the the measurements that were in the video listed above.
How long should I wait for the jars to cool once I have turned the heat to the PC off? I want to go ahead and inoculate tonight is that going to be possible? The jars will have been in the PC for 1 hour at 4:55 Eastern. I usually stay up til about 1 am.

I think its best to let them sit overnight. You want to leave your PC closed until it has become cool to the touch. Depending on the size of your PC this can take about 6-8 hours.
