I was looking around for some books on growing cacti and other ethnobotanicals and couldnt really find much so i thought it would be a good idea to have a sticky listing books on this field in a sticky.
I know there are heaps of books around on this subject, but there are some good ones and some shit ones. If you have one and think it is worth reading then post here these details:
Title:
Author:
Brief description:
Rating:
Code:
Mushroom Code: :greenshroom:
Then hopefully a MOD can come along and edit this and make it into a sticky or copy'n paste all this so we have a hub for solid helpful info.

Yea I understand. But there is no point in making a stickie in the garden listing cactus cultivation books, when simple searches could turn up with all the information you need. Are you implying that I don't read books?

No, im implying that some people hate reading info off screens.
I would really prefer to read a book than text on a screen.
And once again, im not looking simply for cactus grow guides. Im talking about everything ethno. There is so much bullshit on the net and i know there is some really really fucking good books out there that no-one hears about.
I thought that making a single place where like-minded people could share their literary discoveries would be fucking awesome. I know i would learn alot more off a book than i would searching the net.

ever read any Jonathan Ott? Of course you've read Mckenna's works, but I recommend "True Hallucinations" for an ethno aspect. "The Secret lives of Plants" is entertaining. "Plants of the Gods" by Richard Evans Schultes and Albert Hoffman is a must in any library, although there is misinformation on Ariocarpus spp. because Schultes was dead when the new edition was released. It was formerly released as "The Botany and Chemistry of Hallucinogens" a long time ago. I can think of more l8r..

This thread could be that place if there is enough interest to keep it alive. I wouldn't mind adding a stickie like that if some of the old ones like the one informing ppl of the growlog sub-forum where removed. I think everyone knows about that now. I just hate a half a page of stickies on the forum. I'm no mod though, just a n00b that really loves the ethno garden.

Agreed.
A non-sticky thread listing good books on the subject isn't a bad idea though.
