Hey all. This is my second attemp with PF cakes. The first time was an understerilized disaster(major contams). This time I tried to follow RR's tek as closely as possible(hoping to get the cash to purchase his vids soon, which everybody should). Below are some pics of my jars that are furthest along in colonization as well as a pic of where there incubating at. Let me know what you think.
One of the jars

Another

And where there incubating ( on the right is a small heater that keeps the temp. right around 83F, and next to the jars is a small digital thermometer)

Let me know what you guys think and if you see any potential problems with any of this.

You shouldn't really need a heater in there unless it drops below 70 degrees on it's own. I used a heater for my first set of jars and none for my latest, and the colonization times have been the same.

I use the heater because in this part of the MidWest this time of the year tends to be a bit chilly outside (4°F right now), and my room gets cold, and since I like to be cold opposed to warm, I keep the heat off but use the heater for them Thanks for the feedback, I'll update soon and plan on posting a Grow Log when things get a little bit further along.

Question: Below is a pic of my jar that is furthest along in colonization. It's been 18 days since inocc. Any thoughts on why the growth is so slow? Also, out of the 6 i knocked up, 2 have not shown any growth at all. Ideas, Opinions, Answers?!
The Jar

I've searched for my answers, but there are so many variables that people either overlook or underestimate as important, so after my first attempt, I followed the Tek as closely as possible. My previous contaminated growth was much faster than the growth I'm seeing now. Help is appreciated.

I think your growth is normal. With the brf jars you don't have the benefit of shaking your jars to speed up colonization. I wouldn't worry about it, just be patient.
The 2 jars with no growth, did you inject into the middle? Maybe they're growing just not on the outside yet.

No, I used the four point inoculation. On the four jars that do have growth, only one is showing growth at more than one of the inoc sites? Could it have been the amount of spores in the syringe?
