good seal.. air holes are preferable if you are not able to fan it frequently.

depends on the size of your FC, really..

if it's larger size, then twice a day would probably be ok, but more often is probably preferable..

one more thing where should the holes be located...i was thinking logically it should be towards the bottom since the co2 is heavier than o2...but not so low as to leak out water and away from your perilite...but again i am a newbie so i do need help!

Is this a RR type with holes and perlite?

The more you can give air exchange the better. Your perlite needs to be drained before you put it in the fc. And the holes are supposed to be all over it. Including the bottom, don't worry the perlite won't make as big of a mess as you might think.

What you are going for I think is the type of fc just using perlite correct?

You want to put those hole everywhere. Top, bottom all four sides.  Just be careful, if the plastic isn't thick it tends to crack.

Wet your perlite and let drain in a colander.  Then put a good 3 inches in the bottom of the tub.  You need to raise the fc by using blocks or something so air can get under it.  That helps airflow and keeps up your humidity.

You'll still need to fan as often as possible and mist it regularly too.  If you want more info do a post search, they used to call this a RR shotgun fc.  Might call it something else now.   I haven't been on this forum much lately.
