i just got done reading the doors of perception today. The way Huxley described the experience was amazing. does anybody know the dose he took? i would like to try the same or close to the same dose for my first time.

i printed mine off of some thread and it doesn't say anything about his dose. Is it in the actual writing or is it befor the writing starts in the book or something because i dont see it at all?

i bought that book last week but havent gotten too into it yet. im lazy, but he seems to be an interesting guy.
you know as he was dying, he wrote his wife a letter (he couldnt speak) and had her administer 250mics of lsd through an IV. she said he stayed still and didnt blink much, just stared. and sometime during the trip he passed on to the otherside.
what a way to go.

yeah i think it was 100 ug at first than another 150. i saw that on the beyond within (a lsd documentary). look it up on youtube its a good doc at one point it talks about huxleys mescaline experiament also.

I bought a collection of Doors of Perception and Heaven and Hell, but I've yet to read them. I'm going to get started on them both soon.

You should also read "Moksha", which is a collection of all the other articles Huxley wrote about the psychedelic experience. It includes a piece by Laura Huxley which is an account of Aldous taking LSD on his death bed.
Also, and I cannot stress this enough, read "The Joyous Cosmology" by Alan Watts.
