Cognitive Drugs
    #7999690 - 02/09/08 11:04 AM (15 years, 11 months ago)

I heard people with low cog. can't cope or socialize or understand, think fast but they still can be quit useful I guess. I saw a show once showing in the brain the so called cog. part of the brain and test results showing smaller use of the cognition make people stupid or not as focused and capable or adjustable. I don't rly understand this but I feel I dont have much of cog. levels. I know there is therapy to induce more cog. levels. I wish there were a drug that creates use of that part of the brain.

There are things that you can take to help with cognitive abilities, ginkgo, for example.

Also, look up rhodiola rosea. I haven't tried it myself but I may at some point.

Living, learning, educating yourself (not necessarily in an academic sense) and having new experiences will improve your cognitive functions. Using your brain. Don't let psychologists and TV tell you different, the mind is a muscle so to speak.

Yes, rhodiola rosea is a great supplement. I'd also suggest Bacopa Monniera

A lonely guy had been lonely for 15 years never really had friend always remained inside on computer, lazy, is pale and he never wants to learn unless its about drugs or things he has interest in. The grad from high with 3.7 GPA whoop is like this. Its hard to talk to people becuz the words are too deep for my friend.

This is all theory of a person now what would you say would help him with just severe cognitive problems. He is poor therapy would be hard to find one which cost in his range, which those really sucks.

Found this article in a tabloid magazine I didn't buy and got in trouble so I ran and didn't finish reading lol.

I suggest working out your brain.  Go to school.  To broke?  Go to a book store or library and get some books on a subject your interested in and teach yourself.  Stop watching TV and don't pay attention to our current culture.  You'll become a lot smarter that way lol.

Everybody's so down on TV these days and for the most part I am too.

But there's 2 sides to every coin. I think tv can be a good thing as long as your selective. I see nothing wrong with the History Channel and Discovery but that's just me.

Sorry. Off topic, I know.

theres no such thing as a substance that nakes you smarter... you can learn wonderful things from some dugs, but thats not a direct result, thats just what you take away from it

read, watch educational television, research all sorts of stuff, those are the only sure ways to increase your intellect, the more you think the easier it becomes

McDirt summed it up nicely. Challenge your brain and it will grow, forming new connections and reorganizing itself on its own. Don't just absorb, ask yourself questions, think. Use it! And in a variety of ways!
