The HTC Touch cell phone for Sprint boasts an innovative touch screen, a sleek interface, and a nice set of features, but the lack of a sizable keyboard really limits the usability of this device.
I read a few reviews about the phone and that really pops out at me. If you want to be texting and using the net a workable keyboard is a must. Using phones to browse the net and send email/text with a crappy keyboard is just miserable, i hate sending texts on my tiny ass touchpad. That's definitely something you would want to check out in person before you buy it. Also, they sell an unlocked version of it (legally), i personally hate sprints network so i would suggest checking into tmobile or another provider that uses SIM cards. But that's just me

In theory, unlocking an iphone and using it on another network would be a great solution. However, keep in mind two things: First off, it is a very real possibility that you may "brick" your iphone (and other phones) by screwing around with it (e.g. unlocking and adding software. This will ruin the phone and make it completely unusable.
Second, even if you could, I don't think the Apple's hardware wold support the higher speed networks.
The iphone is a sweet machine, however the few times I've used it, I found the internet speeds to be extremely slow. This, and the cost of the monthly data plan were huge drawbacks for me.

Thats a Touch "cruise". It's a slightly different model. I'm not sure why its so much. My guess is that the price is due to you buying it from a third pary vendor. IMO your best bet is to get your phone when you sign a contract, you get heavy discounts for doing so.
I couldn't be happier with my HTC touch. I think its one hell of a phone. It is going to be available for Verizon by the end of March (supposedly). I'd choose it over an iphone any day, but thats just my opinion.

I-PHONE SUCKS BALLS!!!
This phone is sooooooo much better:
The O2 XDA IIs
This phone runs windows mobile. I have an older model of this phone, and with it I can play Neo-Geo, Sega Genesis, and Super Nintendo games. Can the I-Phone do that? Hell no. Fuck a bunch of I-Phone.

The only way you can avoid bosses and jobs is if you don't care about making a living. Which leads to the second freedom: the freedom to starve." - Tom Morello
