Hey guys ...around 3 yrs back i took this huge dose of acid the maximum i have ever taken from what i know i had a complete ego death went thru a perinatal experience
my kundalini was activated and all my chakras were blown open....with my first 4 chakras fully open......
i managed to unhinge my brain and went thru schizophrenia which included psychosis and delusions and ocd symptoms i was put onto medication which helped my brain heal while my ego redevelops itself and goes thru the death rebirth process.....
But i experienced the steal your face ,the lightening bolt and skull....what is the steal your face is it the opening of the 3rd eye ?

This was so hard to read.
I don't think anyone could give you any answers to the questions you're asking. What did the experience mean to you? That's what you need to ask yourself.
The steal your face logo from the Grateful Dead album, I believe, is a drawing that Jerry Garcia drew. :shrugs: Maybe if you edited your post, people would be able to understand you more clearly.
I hope you find the answers you're looking for! Namaste!

i think Augustus Owsley designed the steal your face logo for his sound equipment boxes.

indeed bear and bob thomas did it to mark the deads gear back in the early days originaly just the lightning bolt and red and blue feild behnd it
it became an icon that dead heads realted to
bear has sayed it represents the disolution of duality. but thats kinda obvious when you think about it.
also jerry is quoted as saying "that grinning jap will be the death of us all"

jer never much cared for it, he found it cheesy

A few days later I was talking to Bob and suggested that perhaps the words "Grateful dead" could be placed under the circle, using a style of lettering that would appear to be a skull if you saw it from a distance (I guess I was influenced by too many posters of the time). Any way a few hours later he came down from the loft with the design we know and love.
I don't see how the skull has lettering that says Grateful Dead, was that part of the idea abandoned?

For real. Apparently Jerry hated all the skull/skeleton imagery that various people used to use to promote the Dead, and which came to be inextricably linked to them.

it doesn't mean anything. it's just a band logo you saw that left enough of an impression in your head for it to really bug you whenever you took way too much acid. there is no great secret meaning, sorry.
btw, you'll need to learn to write like an adult if you want anyone to read your posts on the shroomery...just a tip.

He's Gone
With so many shysters and charlatans having dipped into the Dead's profits almost from the beginning, hiring one of the band member's fathers to handle the books must seemed like the foolproof solution to an ongoing problem - that is until Lenny Hart, the father of drummer Mickey Hart and a level-headed, business-savvy patriarch who had the band's complete trust when he took over as their manager, decided to embezzle over $80,000 from the group and split. Though Hart would eventually land in jail, his disappearing act was the initial inspiration for 'He's Gone', a song whose lyrics assume a wary, won't-get-fooled-again stance. "Rat in a drain ditch, caught on a limb/You know better but I know him," the tune begins. Later, the song presents a phrase that would become part of the Dead lexicon, "Like I told you/What I said/Steal your face right off your head."
A self-released live album would later be called Steal Your Face, while a new skull-and-lightning-bolt icon that would represent the Grateful Dead more than any other image is still referred to as a "stealie".
Lenny Hart's actions would prompt Mickey Hart to leave the Dead for over three years. Though the Dead continued to play their indictment of Hart's father following the drummer's return in 1974, over the years the song naturally transcended its original subject matter and became a fitting eulogy for friends who has passed away.
"Later it became an anthem for Pigpen," Hunter told Blair Jackson in 1991, "and it's changed through the years."
The refrain about a man on the lam also turned out to be perfectly suitable for the dearly departed: "Now he's gone, Lord he's gone/Like a steam locomotive rolling down the tracks."
'He's Gone' was eventually played 328 times between March 17, 1972 and July 6, 1995.
Excerpt from The Stories Behind Every Grateful Dead Song by Stephen Peters.
