So I'm attempting shaggys and I'm just curious how people think its coming along. Basicly just curious if you think it will fruit soon, or at all.
Here's what ive done
agar->wbs->straw w/ sawdust w/ woodchips
then i pulled down the bag and dumped dry "unpasterized" peat moss on it, fairly thin
then i misted this dry peat moss until saturated
immeditaly i put in FC
2 weeks later this is what i have

I think you need to cold shock for some time C.comatus. It´s not an easy mushroom to fruit indoors, at least not for me, but if you bury those you´ll get fruits easily.
Good luck

its my first attempt so I'm not 100%, i read in stamets that they like to form "tufts" and I'm hoping thats why it looks weird. I feel its not a contaminate
the reason i didn't do a cold shock is because its winter and the house is already cold 60-70
I do have 2 other bags fully colonized that have not been cased yet, i ll throw one of them in the fridge today to get that going for comparison

I've had blocks, trays, boxes, etc., for months indoors and never fruited. Move them outside to the garden and they fruit within a few weeks. They just seem to really want the various organisms that are present in soil. You might try mixing some of that spawn in a few houseplants. I've had them fruit indoors that way. RR

That mycelium does look a little thick for Coprinus. Maybe this post will help.
