I listen to jazz for the most part, but that doesnt mean it makes me happy.
Music that makes me happy:
Some phish Some dead Some pop 1980-today Any folk music sung by a girl(i love a womans voice as long as its soulful and not in any way loud)
I dont listen to music thats supposed to make me happy(usually). I listen to music without words.
I listen to radiohead sometimes. They dont make me happy in any way. I love that band though.
Music that makes me happy: Van morrison phish bob marley the dead certain jazz tunes certain sad tunes? And crappy pop music that I dont actually like.(I like it in its own simplistic bullshit way and I find comfort in that/im still capable of liking what other people like and that makes me a weird sort of happy).
Music that actually makes me not happy but what I feel is most important to me and thus the happiest for me:
Every weird thing I listen to.
Music makes me smile all the time, and for all sorts of reasons. A smile makes me happy.

I think its impossible to be angry whilst listening to American Beauty. Some Beatles/comedy stuff brings me up.
It sucks when im tripping though because when it's going "bad," music just irritates me and I have to get away from it. Sadly, it is the one thing that brings me out of the bad vibes

American Beauty.
Probably, no definitely my fav album of all times.
I feel that way probably because its my fav of all time and I dont know it yet and its the first album to come to mind and always will be when it comes to my "fav album of all time".
Ya, "broke down palace".
My fav song ever.
Between the lyrics, the composition of the songs, and that divine slide guitar its pretty much panning out as being atleast MY fav album ever.
That is not the happiest album throughout, but it sure does make me very happy to listen to its true beauty.
Somehow, in its own folky way, that is the trippiest album ever IMO.
You cant keep it more real. You cant get any any-er. That is "real good" and is the first place a dead hater should go before they explode.
Fare you well my honey Fare you well my only true one All the birds that were singing Have flown except you alone
Goin to leave this Broke-down Palace On my hands and my knees I will roll roll roll Make myself a bed by the waterside In my time - in my time - I will roll roll roll
In a bed, in a bed by the waterside I will lay my head Listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock my soul
River gonna take me Sing me sweet and sleepy Sing me sweet and sleepy all the way back back home It's a far gone lullaby sung many years ago Mama, Mama, many worlds I've come since I first left home
Goin home, goin home by the waterside I will rest my bones Listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock my soul
Goin to plant a weeping willow On the banks green edge it will grow grow grow Sing a lullaby beside the water Lovers come and go - the river roll roll roll
Fare you well, fare you well I love you more than words can tell Listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock my soul

This thread was moved from The Psychedelic Experience.
Reason: While there is the occasional music/tripping thread in the Psych. Exp., a thread just talking about different tastes in music really belongs in either the Pub or MA&L.
