Blue Lotus?

I have a bag sitting in front of me of some Blue Lotus, otherwise known as Egyptian blue lily, sacred lotus, etc. I have never personally tried it, but I've heard that the effects are described as that of a mild sedative in addition to mild psychedelic effects. I plan on making a pot of tea within the next hour
Has anyone here ever had any experiences with the sacred lotus? If so, what method of ingestion did you use? Was the experience enjoyable?

Never tried it, and according to erowid.. There's no psychedelic properties to it at all

I have used it several different ways.... Don't bother smoking. You have to smoke way too much. Effects are subtle and mostly visual and slightly relaxing..
The best method from my experience, was open a bottle of read win, pour out a bit, and cram about 20grams of dried leaves in and let it set for a couple of hours. then drink the wine.
you can definitley tell when it's done that way. Supposedly that is how the Egyptians did it.

I read that the psychedelic properties included mild CEV's and increased color in vision. Yeah, erowid made no mention of that; got it from wiki. I'm sure the psychedelic part of it is very very mild, if there is any at all
Its mostly sedative though.

When I was into trying all the new botanicals I could get my hands on, I always meditated under a tulip tree where I lived.
What I noticed was that when I looked at this tree, I could see each individual leaf all at the same time. That's the best way I can describe the hallucinations from it. Everything seemed to appear to me as if an artist were looking at it (I'm no artist)
I hope that helps...
It is very subtle. Something to do after church on a sunny day.. lol

Well I don't have any wine or alcohol at the moment, I'm not much of a drinker.
I was thinking about just using the same method for making mushroom tea. Should work right?

Um, possibly... You could just boil the leaves with some lemon juice
However the acids might destroy the alkaloids, im not familiar with blue lotus

I LOVE Lotus!!!
There are two species of psychoactive Lily/Lotus- Nymphaea caerulea and Nelumbo nucifera
Nymphaea is Egyptian orgy Lily.
Nelumbo is Far Eastern meditation Lotus.

i smoked about 3 very very large joints of this, mixed with a tad of herb and tobacco. i would equate the effects to being similar to that of opium. i felt very strange, thats the only way i can describe it. i would definitely go with the titration in wine since the comedown was very unpleasant for me

Hey Omni, I have quite a bit of experience w/ lotus. It's a rather mild sedative effect. Nothing too out of the ordinary.
