i think this would be really awesome.
but, yeah...it would suck for the fans of whatever teams have to fly over here to play.
most likely it would be teams owned by American interests.
Aston Villa v. Man U?

I have advocated having a "premiership game of the week" nationally televised game on in the US. games come on between 7 and 10 am Central time. right before NFL games at 12 noon CST. its perfect timing b/c games predictably last 2 hours. the game could be shown on a network that doesn't have NFL games on sunday (ABC) of college football games on saturday (NBC). but when I bring this idea up to EPL fans they say that that this type of a program would never happen b/c it would undermine the efforts of promoting MLS, which is obviously miles apart from the big Euro leagues but is showing signs of growth.
so I dont think MLS, or those that corporately sponsor MLS, would appreciate having EPL games played on American soil. this maybe harder to pull off than the NFL moving a reg season game to London.

I see it the other way. I think if people see EPL games then it will further their own interest in the MLS.
Sort of 'That was enjoyable, I'll give our own domestic league a try.'.

I used to think I liked Chelsea because of Drogba, Essien, and Shevchenko, but all I ever get to watch is Arsenal games. Adebayor is way cooler than Drogba.
And yeah, I think EPL games in America would be better for the sport. Just like the World Cup frenzy probably would have increased viewers for a short while.

I find it funny neither league realizes there's no market; y'all don't want our football and we don't want y'all's. Both have been available, and both have been rejected.

I think soccer will be pretty big here sooner or later.
They just have to make some rule changes, like make each goal worth seven points so Americans think the games are higher scoring.
They complain all the time about 3-2 games, but they don't realize that's really just 21-14 / 7.

Yeah, that always bothers me, when people are like "there's no scoring in hockey/soccer!" A good hockey game is 4-3, same as 35-28

Baseball is the best sport ever.
The reason it never caught on in Europe is because you need decent weather to play it and its 20 degrees and raining in Europe for 14 months out of the year.

qft. Every year I give it a chance, and every year I lose interest one week in until it's playoff time. Although I must admit last year I paid more attention over the summer than usual. It's growing on me.

I used to ouright hate baseball, but it is also growing on me, though not so much in the summer. Also, my conscience can't let the MLB get aways with their roids bullshit.

You know the NFL players are on 10X the juice the MLB guys are.

Good news, USA is reluctant to do it because they want to focus on their own league.

Great just what I wanted to hear. Guess I'll stick to watching EPL games at 10 on Saturday mornings at bars. Or 3 when they're night games

I do watch them live. Just at bars instead of on my computer. Just got back from watching the Arsenal game. I don't like waking up at nine to watch them on Saturdays though

told ya.
as for the corporate named parks that hold MLS teams, they gots to make money somehow. most MLS team jerseys dont have corporate logos on them, except for LA, NY and i think Toronto. thats what kind of annoys me about european league jerseys. I would buy a few more but I dont like wearing a dumb looking giant corp logo like:

mister lady? crazy fucking germans.

If that's how you feel you could always root for FC Barcelona. They pay Unicef to have the logo on their shirt.

I like the gray striped keeper jersey the best.
