sorry, i was basically having an episode of mania when i initially decided to delete the post...my head hasn't really been in the "right" place lately.
anyways, i don't really want to post as many photos as i did in the original post, so i'll just post a few for now...nothing spectacular, just some pretty flowers and my fat shirtless co-worker eating ice cream. word.

awesome man, I love the idea of cross processing, its one interesting technique you can't really sqweeze out of digital processing. I think the three green leaves, is my favorite pic. Aerobie's are fun I use them with my dogs, cause I can get it enough infront of them before they can catch up to it.

I think you expect too much out of this forum... this isn't the pub, after all, we operate at a much slower pace in MA&L. Sometimes you have to wait awhile for replies.

They're very nice, actually. I love the photograph of the leaves especially. You always do really neat things with your lighting.

Yes, the lighting in these pictures is very nice. I like how the leaf in the shadow is just as bright as the leaves in the light. I'm sure I could draw some spiritual significance from that if I thought about it for a while

thanks guys. yeah, i remember photographing those leaves..i was walking by a practically world-famous viewpoint that over looks the entire cityscape of seattle. lots of tourists and other photographers taking pictures of the space needle and what not, but those leaves caught my eye as they were just perfectly laying there on the metallic tunnel of a playground structure. anyways, i remember a group of young women watching me as i photographed these leaves. i don't think they really saw the beauty there and they seemed rather confused as to why i was so into what i was doing. but the natural light there was so perfect i just KNEW it would be a good photograph.
The way in which that tulip photo came about was just as serendipitous as well. I was trying to photograph this tulip which i had put in a small vase. anyhow, while i was photographing it the petals suddenly started falling off the stem, one by one. at first i was frustrated, but then i just said "fuck it" and re-arranged the petals like so...basically i ended up with a much better photograph than i initially intended to take.
whether you suck or not, the beautiful thing about photography is the form of meditation the process itself brings you. The enlightenment or revelations you have while taking the photograph is usually much more important and beneficial for spiritual growth than actually holding the end result photograph in your hand.

Voigtlander Bessa-R with a fixed 35mm Skopar lens...
http://www.cameraquest.com/voigrf.htm
mine's just like that one except it's an all black body. i absolutely love it, i call it the "poor man's Leica" I really think Skopar glass is about the best quality you can find if you don't happen to have several thousand to drop on Leica or Carl Zeiss lenses.
saving up right now for a super-wide 15mm heliar lens, as i'm getting more and more into wide-angle street photography work...
http://www.amazon.com/Voigtlander-Super-Wide-Heliar-Aspherical-Viewfinder/dp/B0000BZZFQ
as you can see, still not exactly "cheap" for a poor bastard like myself
photography is fun, but it can be a ridiculously expensive hobby. the film i use is usually kodak elite chrome or velvia...both slide films. a single roll usually costs around 7 or 8 bucks. when i'm really in 'the zone', i can easily go through 3 or 4 rolls a week. you then throw in costs for developing the slides and, well...without really doing the math you can see how quickly the $ adds up.
digital would be cheaper, but i say FUCK DIGITAL it's convenient for sure, but i just have too intimate of a relationship with film.
