hello -
i am making my first attempt at pf tek. after waiting one week after full colonization, i birthed the cakes, dunked, rolled, and placed in a fruiting chamber using perlite. holes were drilled in each side of the box, the cakes were fanned 2-3x per day with 70 degrees F and 95% humidity. the cakes were also misted like every other day.. it has been 2 weeks and no pins. the cakes looked bruised after they were dunked and no new mycelium has grown. they look really dry now! D: what did i do wrong? please help!

thanks

Dunk them again, and afterwards, mist a few times daily. Once every two days isn't enough, even at 100% humidity. RR

Probably a humidity issue / temp / moisture issue. The bluing i see looks like its dry.
I would re dunk like RR says and make sure the the humidity is high and temps are high enough.

good. i hope that i can save the cakes. is there a chance that they will be dead after this 2 week period? we have 5 other cakes that some were never dunked and they sat like that for 4 weeks. there isn't any white fuzzy stuff on the outside.. it would be a total bummer if we got this far and didn't see any results. thanks again.
