Its not a Mycena, those have white spores and the cap of a mycena doesn't expand out that much.
My guess is something closer to Pholiota.
Did it have a viscid (slimy) cap surface?
In any case this won't turn out to be edible or psychoactive.

Yes, it was slimy when i harvested it however it was snowing at the time.
And its winter in the Appalachian mountains, I doubt i will be finding anything remotely psychoactive

Hmmm... doesn't quite look like Pholiota...
Anyone, you took a spore print, right? I only ask because sometimes people guess the spore colour, and that can throw off our guesses a LOT.
This is a weird mushroom... with those colour spores I'm not sure what it is. Maybe Naucoria, but that's pretty much a wild guess.

The spore print i took was very faint, and theres a good chance it was just dirt. I'm planning to go back to get a few more specimens (assuming they aren't covered in snow) and i'll ensure a correct print as soon as i get them back home.
They were growing in very cold weather, between 10-30 degrees average and some partially under the bark of a fallen tree if that helps at all. Appalachian mountains of western Maryland.

Cool. Yeah, I'd also recommend taking a sharpie and blacking out an area of the white paper, then setting the cap halfway on the black and halfway on the white, so that if it has white spores you can see them on the black side.
