Best sponsor substrate?

What do you guys like best in terms of bang for your buck? I'm looking for something pre-pasteurized/sterilized.
So far: Spore Works MM Manure Bag 10lb for 53$ shipped
High Mountain Compost 10lb for 45$ shipped
Mycopath Pasteurized Horse Manure 10lb for 30$ shipping not included
What do you guys think about these in terms of yield/cost? Have you had good experience with the moisture content? What about shelf life? Id like to get something that I can spawn to right out of the bag, don't want to have to tweak the pH or anything. Thanks.

The Sporeworks manure bag isn't supposed to be opened until fully colonized. It has grain additives and will almost certainly contaminate if opened to the air.

theres a shitload of problems with mycopath over in the sponser forum. I think you should check those problems out before even considering ordering from that place.
With that being said, HMMC seems to be the cheapest choice.

I loved www.qualityharvestcompost.com but cant get a response lately.
I loved www.tennstud.com but cant get a response lately either.
Gonna try www.mushroomadventures.com next it needs to be hydrated, and although its been pasturized twice they reccomend pasturizing again. 4lbs 30 bucks...thats ten wet lbs...thought I could add some verm to get the cost down to about 2$ a lb. Good luck...if you find a good source let us know.

High mountain is the best substrate. It is also the only true compost offered on this board. Their price is 10lb for $35 and then they offer a 25% discount to shroomery members so it would be $26.25+ $10 shipping. Easily the best deal and the best compost available. Good luck!

Coco coir. $3 a brick or around $15 for a huge bail. Hydrate with hot coffee water, let it cool, squeeze out the excess moisture and spawn.

Fine... but I don't think they'll fruit in the bag. I may be wrong though...

I paid $20 for 5lbs. plus I believe it was another 15 for shipping.
pre-pasteurized and ready to use.

And there is where God lives, where the dead live, the spirits and the saints, a world where everything has already happened and everything is known. That world talks. It has a language of its own. I report what it says. The sacred mushroom takes me by the hand and brings me to the world where everything is known. It is they, the sacred mushrooms, that speak in a way I can understand."

I would go with Mycopath, they do take a little longer to ship but is defintally worth the wait
