Thai Koh Samui / Acadian Coast / Aussie - GROW LOG [PICS] - UDATED 02.03.08
    #7991699 - 02/07/08 01:20 PM (15 years, 11 months ago)

Here's another little grow log, of the above mentioned strains.
As alway, I crumbled PF-Cakes and cased them with Coir.
As you'll see, the results are quiet different from each other.
Additionally I post a few pics of an Acadian Coast Cake I have going on right now.

Guess there's nothing to learn, so it's just for fun.
If you have any questions anyway, pls feel invited to ask them

Here's the Koh Samui casing:

The Koh Samui have colonized quiet quickly as well in the jars, as in the casing-box.
The developed some nice rhizomorphic mycelium and started to pin really well!

The Aussie:

The Aussies were kind of a pain in the ass, since they took about four weeks to completely colonize (the print was very old) and then they took another two in the FC to pin.
The pins that showed up, were mostly very thin and small, which wasn't caused by an lack of FAE since all the other strains I cultivated simultaneously in this FC developed well (such as the Koh Samuis).

Anyway, a few OK to nice fruits came out. I'll try to grow them one more time to see if a self made fresh print give better results.

The Acadian Coast:

I also used a very old print for them, so the colonizing wasn't that fast. Took quiet a long time to pin. It seems that every strain that takes LONG for colonizing (again, due to old prints), needs longer for pinning and develops smaller fruits

Here's a pic of the current status...

Well, here's the update.
The Koh Samuis and the Acadian Coasts have been harvested.
The KS turned out to flush quiet nicely and to be the most extreme bluing Cube strain I've ever worked with. It's also bluing VERY fast. Weird, but nice .The Acadian Coast cake developed not too many fruits, but still I think that this is a very nice strain. The mushrooms look very beautiful in my opinion

Anyway, here are the pics:

Well, we'll see how the bulk casing turns out. I spawned the second Acadian Coast cake to some straw/poo mix, which is now fully colonized.
Later this day I'll case it, so there should be fruits within a week.

Here's a little update on the Koh Samuis...

This is the third "flush" of them and although there ain't many fruits, I'm still happy with the outcome, since the first flush was quiet good.

Yes, I did dunk before the third flush.
I get pretty mixed up results at second and later flushes, not actually turning out very good.
I don't really know the reason...

Yes, they were not spawned but just cased with a coir/verm layer.
I use two glass Terrariums (60 x 30 x 30cm), clay stones for humidification and myself power for FAE.

Sooner or later I'll have to get myself an autamted air fan,
but until now, I didn't have any problems with a lack of FAE.
