Reason # 1,203,044 That Living in the City Sucks

I am a city kid w/out a doubt.
But we got 2 feet of snow yesterday, and I didn't leave the house once. So there is 2 feet of snow on top of my car. Plus, I park on the city streets. So the snow-plow has come by and pushed all of its detritus up against my car, and now the drivers side is covered up the middle of the window with a mound of rock hard ice-snow.
I am now going to attempt to get it mobile again, as work was canceled yesterday but I'm sure its on for today.
So I'm going to go chip, pry, and bash this fucker out of this snow prison.
This should take me an hour.
I'll be back.

I love how much snow we don't get in Texas. I've never had to dig my way our of any snow.
Sounds like a pain in the ass.

I feel your pain man. We've been getting at least a foot a week for months now. It's getting beyond ridiculous. I have to dig my car out every other day.

When I lived in the city they didn't allow on-street parking. I had to pay for a parkign garage.

Living almost anywhere except the South West sucks these days: Either you're gonna get snowed in, or a tornado is gonna sweep your home away.
Best of luck to you.

Made it
10 frozen toes. 6 offers from bums to help for "a little something" 5 sore fingers. 3 pains in my back. 2 aching triceps. 1 '99 VW Golf GTI successfully liberated.
Seriously though, what an awesome neighborhood. I had at least three of my neighbors come out of their houses to offer to help. Not to mention the 6 or 7 bums who are strolling down the middle of the street and asking me all glassily eyed if they can help.
Finally got it unnstuck after much digging with me gunning the gas and two of my neighbors pushing the thing.
Awesome.

First winter in recorded history that NYC has not had at least one inch of snowfall in January.

We have gotten slaughtered here.
6 inches on tuesday, 2 feet yesterday, another 6 tonight. And snow in the forecast every day for the foreseeable future.
Lake effect, ftw.

I saw that you said that and read the review.
That just may go on my list.
Do you know I didn't even know that movie was based on a book?

Oooh, for sure.
I didn't even see the thread.
I always suck at fantasy baseball though. I just have this compulsion to fill my team with Cubs. I *know* its irrational. I *know* its a recipe for disaster. But I cannot stop.
No matter what happens this year, I am almost guaranteed to draft D. Lee with my first pick. Even if Pujols is available.
Its stupid, I know.

I'll show you a REAL team in a REAL park.

Hey now, you should come out to NYC for the last ever year of one of the four oldest stadiums in existence, Yankee Stadium. It's hallowed ground man! I know Wrigley is too so let's make a deal, let's each come out to each other's cities and go to games this season? Deal?

I would say that is entirely possible.
I'm not in school and have no major hangups at the moment.
And baseball season is long.
I could probably make it out there sometime.
