Grain tyvek lids letting moisture out?

Does having full surface tyvek on your jars dry out your lids? I made a set of jars that had only a layer of tyvek under the ring. Seems like they are taking off due to the high FAE but should I be worried about them drying out? Have any of you tried this before? What about vendor lid filter circles? Are these worth the money?

Correct. The tyvek is for use as a filter, not the lid. Tape all but about 1 square cm with duct tape. Next time, use the metal lids with holes for gas exchange/inoculation, and place the tyvek over that as a filter. RR

True true true, although I do not take the time to cover with tape. There is some drying involved with a straight tyvek lid but I find that it doesn't cause me and problems. I just wipe the tyvek with alcohol, stick some masking tape on the lid without adhering the hole piece of tape, stick the needle through it under where the tape will lay, remove needle and apply tape in the same motion. The needle is actually dragging under the tape as I pull it out.
Then I just cover the lid with aluminium foil sort of tight. Rigth or wrong, this is what works just fine for me.
