The only reason Horse Manure is #1 because of texture, Cow Manure hands down has more nutrients

*The fact is, even with the perfect substrate and the perfect temperature and the perfect terrarium and the perfect love of the most experienced grower, there will be up to a ten-fold difference in actives between individual fruits and from one flush to the next. I have no idea why, but it's a fact. We've all seen it. One batch sends you to Mars, the next sends you to bed early. Straw is just as nutritious as Brown Rice Flour, The only reason people like it because of it's moisture capacity producing monsters. That's It!
*The entire mushroom contains the same amount of drug regarless of size from the veil break onward
*Bigger Mushrooms dilute the potency because there is more mushroom material but no more drug. Basically theres more mass, not! more drug.
*So if you have a 10 gram mushroom with 1 milligram 'of drug' when the veil is breaking, you can wait and later get a 20 gram mushroom but still with 1 milligram 'of drug'.

OP SORRY FOR THIS I WAS PROVOKED ...UR TRAYS LOOK GREAT!!! JUST TRY A HANDFULL OF CHOPPED STRAW WITH UR BLACK COW AND THANK ME LATER:)
in hopes of not turning this into a flame war.... im am trying to help you people.... with the the experience that i have. some people will argue with me forever and ever about this.... im giving you an opinion just like ur giving your opinion... hey if you think im full of shit than so be it.... but don't knock until you try it..... black cow and chopped straw is a perfect mix. and your potency will increase.
think about it... just for a moment.... let me ask you have you ever tried shrooms that were just grown on straw? they will freakin blow ur mind but contamination is too high. mix the poo with it and you recieve the perfect mouisture and you might actually get multiple flushes.... also the more mycelum you have the stronger ur flushes and the stonger your potency and the yeild will increase.
IF YOU GROW A POT PLANT IN A 1/2 PINT JAR AND YOU GROW ONE IN A 10 GALLON BUCKET ...WHICH DO YOU THINK WILL BE STRONGER? THINK ABOUT IT!!!
lookin at my avatar if you saw willie you might have seen the day i started her...im not saying that i have more experience but i have been lurking here alot longer than you and i assure you i am the PROGRAM.
I WILL STOP RAMBLING CAUSE YOU PROBABLY WON'T READ ANYWAYS.... CAUSE I CAN TELL ALOT OF THE NEWBS HER HAVE SHORT ATTENTION SPANS... AND THEY THINK THEY KNOW EVERYTHING.. BUT CONTINUE TO ASK DUMB ASS QUESTIONS CONSTANTLY

I've done straw/manure there's NO INCREASE IN POTENCY WILLY! Ask people here and they'll tell you the same thing. I'm telling you it's genetic. Your yield will increase! Straw is as nutritious as brf! It's just the moisture in straw! Pot Plant? It's hard to say. It's with your nutrients though! Mushrooms DO NOT HAVE circulatory/vascular systems therefore nutrients/substrate isn't it. I'm no noob I can tell you that much Willie Nilly

well like i said its an opinion just like yours. maybe i don't know what im talkin about.....i haven't been doing this for 5 yrs and im just a fuckin idiot just like you said...
its just seems so obvious i don't see why people don't get it.. the stronger the root system the stronger the shroom. think about it. just open ur mind quit being stubborn... i guess some people have to try it to believe it.

Your grow looks very impressive! I was thinking about doing something similar, using perilite with casings but I read that casings need a lower humidity, around 85% and I was worried that the perilite will keep the humidity to high for the casings. I guess your setup proves this wrong so I might go for some perilite in my FC instead of an expensive ultrasonic humidifier for my first grow.

well hmm.....the black cow has definitly worked well for me....it seemed that the myc ate it very very quickly....the perlite under the casing has seemed to give it just the right amount of humidity...i even mist it once or twice a day and give it a fan just for good measure
As far as the potency im not sure cause i have yet to take them, but i will at some point this weekend so i will definitly let you guys no......im kinda worried because i just recently read that with multispore there a chance to get very low potency mushrooms which would be really disappointing...
anyway heres some more pics they are growing like crazzzy

probably be ready to harvest tonight or tmrw mornin, the veils have started to rip on three of four

ok good thanks pre i was sweatin that for awhile thinkin i might get a couple ounces of low potency shrooms....
im gunna make a couple prints from these guys and i might try to clone one....can i clone on a small dish using a light syrup like used for LC's...i figure ill cut a peice outta the middle of the stem and add it to the syrup an let it colonize then do it a couple more times to isolate a better B+ substrain

Potency is genetic, but there is a thing called Natural Potency believed that 'Nitrogen' increases potency. But overall I believe potency has more to do with sub-strain then substrain for THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of try's of different substrates...Sometimes manure comes up with LOW trips, sometimes BRF comes up with HIGH trip. It's all genetic when it comes to potency.

straw/cpoo would prolly be quicker than coir/cpoo
those look awesome for such a small substrate though dbt!

just throwin something at you on this... yes it will increase the size of ur flush and ur shrooms... if u increase ur depth.... next time instead of using trays on top of perlite fill the bottom of ur ur tub with ur substrate. about four inches is always good... use a straight poo straw mix no verm.. then research 60/40 verm coir casings ... and also look in to getting a vicks cool mist.... a vicks is always nice cause it will give you humidity and fae if you operate on a timer.. that way ur not opening to fan and ur contamination risk goes down.
