i'm not sure if this is a contamination but i'm just noticing little black spheres inside of some of my quart jars which are fully colonized. They sort of look like sporadically dispersed poppy seeds.

and it became a big fucking mess!!! I hope that pic is old and you are not currently holding onto that jar.
Stamets recomends that you pc jars like that for 30 mins before you open them to trash the infected spawn. I would just take it to the local grocery store and dump the whole thing in their trash. You do not want to be anywhere near that jar once it is opened

my jar has smaller black dots, and theyre actually spherical. Almost identical to poppy seeds.
Also my jars are fully milky white with myc so I'm really wondering what it is

Why are you disagreeing with stamets might I ask? Mason jars are expensive

i am not disagreeing. That jar has about a 75cent value. 30 mins and dealing with the possibilities of spores everywhere is worth more than 75 cents to me. trash the whole thing, no worries, new case of jars 8-10 bucks. Open that fucker up in the house, sterilize room, wash clothes, feel dirty, worry about everything for a week.

There is a cool cultivation video on here somewhere that I watched. It says to discard the jar at the first sight of contamination.I'm not trying to butt in or anything, I am just very interested in cultivation. I hope you guys aren't offended that a newbie replied to your post. I live in Imperial Beach and have been wanting to either cultivate or find shrooms around here.

I advise against eating anything from a jar like that, having fun with it is a different thing, that jar started with equador mycelium, the black pin mold started and it was sent to me to play with, when i recieved it green mold was introduced and bacterial contams developed.... I sat on it for almost 6 months before the fruits formed.
