Azure and Cyan Mycelium ROPEY... What now?

Hi friends...
I have a couple of 6 gram samples of nice thick ropey Azure and Cyan I got from a smart shop via the web. I've done my searches and reads of lots of posts/faq's/tek's and just can't decide what tek to use on 'em. I do know I'm best off doing the fruiting outside, but I can't decide what to grow out the spawn on.
I will be fruiting them on soaked alder wood chips, but getting up to that point, there are so many different methods... What's BEST?
Thanks for the advice (in advance).

In reply to:

Read http://www.sporeworks.com/azurdata.htm .
Been there, read that.
Okay, I guess I'll start with rye... Then if that goes well.... More rye.... then when I have about a cubic foot of colonized rye.... Well, I'm getting ahead of myself now...

>What about cardboard?
I used to inoculate H2O2-water soaked cardboard by placing rye spawn at top of it in a bag. Coloized good and fast. Then I used this colonized cardboard as a starter for an outdoor bed.
