So, I'm in the friuting processes. my tarrarium is stabalized at 81degrees and 95% humidity. A few mushrooms have grown about an inch long. i have a lot of aborts also. All the ones that have grown are turning white ontop and have white aound there base which seems to be spreading up the stem. Also they have seemed to stop growing. Does anybody have advice??

I believe you might need to lower the humidity if you have white growing on the fruits. I could be wrong and if I am, I'm sure someone will correct me.

More FAE. More more more more. Fan that sucker as often as you can without dropping the RH too much. It definitely sounds like you're suffocating your babies.

Small mushrooms are usually related to the substrate moisture content. You want near 100% humidity, 70F to 75F temperature, and lots of air exchange. You can soak your substrate overnight and then return to fruiting conditions, even with pins on it.
By lifting your substrate, you should be able to get a feel for moisture content by judging the weight. This is a learned process, so when you make fresh substrates, see how much they weigh, and then later on you can adjust moisture content based on the feel when you lift one. RR

Did you dunk your cakes? For your next flush, you might want to. Are there any holes in your terrarium? Get some polyfill, micropore tape, or tyvek, then drill or otherwise create lots of holes then plug them with whatever filter you're using. Does the white fuzz look like mycelium fuzz or does it look or smell off?

I am by no means questioning your expertise as I believe yours is second to none on this forum. However, wouldn't the ideal temperature range be based on the particular strain being used? For instance, if you are using a strain from a warm region wouldn't the ideal fruiting temperatures be higher than a strain that naturally grows in colder temps? Or are you saying 70-75 is the most generic, safest temperature range without customizing the environment to accommodate specific strains? Again, not disagreeing with you, just curious.
