There is no standing water, looks moist inside, but on the "drier" side

Check out my 1st BRF jar
looks like a very very light grey, must be cobweb no?

If that's cobweb, then your entire jar will be covered in it within 24 hours.

I know the pics suck, but live they are a very sligt shade o' gray, when the "myc" 1st appeared at each innoc point, it looked like fluffy white cotton the size of a dime (currency type) now it has this "ash grey" tint...

You didn't mention if you soaked them or not. They should be soaked for 24-48 hours and then simmered and what not. They will more than likely end up too dry if you didn't soak them and aid in contamination.

its not cobweb, when the mycelium first starts consuming the jar it isnt very thick so it can sometimes appear to have a gray color, once it colonizes more it will likely get brighter and brighter
in terms of your overall process I think you have it wrong. you don't need to simmer multiple times, you arent cleaning the grains when you simmer, you are hydrating them. IMO the most important step when preparing grains is to let it soak AT LEAST 24 hours. after that you should completely rinse them off and THEN simmer to achieve full hydration. as soon as you see a seed or two bust open its time to take it off and rinse again, then let it drain for 10 or so minutes, then put it into jars and PC, i think your problem is you are not allowing the grains to soak, and doing multiple simmers is pointless, the purpose is to hydrate the grain, not clean it. you clean the grain by letting it soak

Ok, I'll toss these 6 jars and start soaking some seed today.
Thanks for the clarification.

dude dont toss those jars, they will probably turn out fine. just put them away and check back in a couple of weeks, the worst that can happen is they don't fully colonize or they become contamed, but on the other hand they may colonize just fine and then you have 6 jars to fruit
only toss jars as a LAST resort, when all else has failed and you are absolutely positive they are contamed beyond repair, unless of course you only have 6 jars but in that case i would suggest buying more jars

lol, in all honesty I have 40 cases of 1 pint jars. Locally I found an old man selling stuff in bulk off craigslist and scored all of them for $15!
Yeah, I might as well let them marinate in the warmth eh?
I did use 70% of a syringe of eq on the 6, so might as well see what happens..
I hope my 1 pint of brf (test pint) succeeds in coln. so I may use it to inoc others or else I need mo spo'z
