Pressure Cookers built to survive a nuclear attack
Ive been pretty happy with my 23qt. Presto and it only cost 92.50$, brand new.
I was considering getting an AA like that if I found a good deal on one on Ebay.

If I didn't have a fucking glass-top range I'd get one, but something tells me a fully loaded PC that size would crack it all to shit once it got up to temperature.

10 dollar hot plate from walmart will power one of those dudes.... That's what I had to do since I have a glass top stove as well.
Just put that guy on the hotplate with water and no lid and wait until it gets kinda warm to put your jars in and the lid on. I dunno it it's a safe thing to do, but it's my work around.
I just never thought it was a good idea to let the jars sit in there for an extra hour while the thing got booted up to speed....

Some people put their jars by their xbox and/or computer so the ambient heat near the devices will increase the incubation temperatures. So, I guess you could say that it's possible.
And sorry we have hijacked the hell out of this thread.

Hm, I had read in a few places finding a hotplate with enough wattage to get a PC up to temp was damn near impossible, and if not, at least a little bit dangerous since most of them aren't rated to run at that kind of temperature.
I just don't want to set my house on fire, that's key, but I'd like to be able to at least prep a sane amount of substrate without having to refill the thing 5 times.

I do my pc'ing in the garage, in the middle of the floor. Have been using the same hotplate for years, plugged into a 25 foot extension cord with no issues.

I do my PC'ing in my kitchen, right next to a 50 gallon liquor still and 10 gallons of jet fuel.
Seriously though, PC'ing is fine in house, just remember that "Set it and forget it" is exactly the opposite of what you want to do with a PC.
