Pin initiation on dung

Three trays of Horse dung spawned on 7/17 with EQ on rye grain. Colonized in 6-7 days, cased with 50/50+. It overgrew the casing pretty quickly, more material was applied to some of the trays and two of them were cold shocked for ~24 hours. None of them are pinning yet although the mycelium is seeming so aggressive its reaching up in some areas of the casing making structures that appear to be pins at first glance but are found not to be so when inspected closely. What should be done? I ask only because it seems like it has been a long time especially with the cold shocking.
Thank you.

Patience, patience, patience... EQ's take a while to knot/pin. It'll happen... You'll se knots any day now.

Thank you for your reply. So even though it was spawned on 7/17 you don't think they're taking too long? Some EQ cakes were cased around the same time and they're on their second flush.
Thank you.

I have an EQ/compost cake spawned with rye berries on 7/3 that's just starting to pin now.

So should I just continue to mist the casings and wait?
Thanx

i have the same problem. I applied no casing, and the mycelium has shot up a few mature mushroom shaped growths about 1/8" tall. very agressive mygelium. i alse had 2 seeds sprout in the dung tray. mycelium is healthy and everywhere and i will assume it will attack and kill the sprouts. would be cool if they stayed though.

I just thought I'd update this. It seems that patience was what was needed; the trays started pinning a few days after I started this thread (last friday or so). I guess EQs can take a while to pin, but they're doing quite nicely now, thanx everyone for your replies
