Anyone see this episode of the alcoholic guy who does a lot of mushrooms and MDMA?
Here's the link for the first part. The rest are on there as well.

Definitely some bullshit facts thrown in for good measure.

I saw that. It was pretty crazy. That guy was out there. Shrooms and MDMA are not addictive. He may have had an alcohol addiction. But they make it out like its all bad.

on a previous episode they had a kid who said he "took 6 caps, more than enough to kill you". the show could really do some good for people with alcohol, and other narcotic addictions like coke or opiates, if they would only throw in some realistic educational aspects to it, instead of just some dumbass ranting.

Yeah, it irks me when they say stuff like "Hallucinogenics can cause cardiac arrest and respiratory failure".
The guy is definitely a dumbass though.

Don't you hate it how they downplayed his alcohol addiction and tried to exagerate his hallucinogen use? This guy probably needs anger management more than an intervention.
"Hallucinogen use can cause violence, paranoia, delusions, convulsions, coma, cardiac arrest and respiratory failure."
Does anyone buy any part of that? The only hallucinogen I've heard of causing a coma is belladona and that isn't even really classified as an hallucinogen, it's a deliriant.

hmm, saw this last night, i must say the only respiratory problems i've experienced are on dmt when time slows down so much i don't realize what breathing means--much more the importance of synthesizing different molecules to keep me 'alive' and how it relates to any kind of theory of my 'being' pertaining to the grand multi-dimensional image of the so-called universe and....
i'm rambling aren't i? maybe i should get an intervention myself...

That guy was a mess. I agree with whoever said that his alcoholism problem played a larger role in his situation. I also bet the fact that he grew up being worshipped by his family for his running talent made him grow up with the attitude of "i'm the most important", which made him really turn into an ass. Also, wtf. his mom his crying about his addiction on one hand and than giving him the money to feed it on the other. lawlz.

hahhaha saw that episode a few nights ago. I regularly watch Intervention, and I'd have to say this was the first one that had lots of comic relief in it.
It's pretty funny when the guys hot college girl neighbor is bitching him out for the loud music 24/7, and hes so fucked up he can't even follow the argument. The guy seems to be some kind of nimrod ego maniac to begin with....

He's an ex-tweak for sure. Apparently got busted for meth and is on probation for that now.
I actually feel really sorry for this guy, but he's made his choices I guess. Nothing was forced on him. His family seems really sincere, and his affects on them are really what make me the saddest.
That being said, the drugs are more a symptom of this guy's personality than something that's creating problems themselves. They're definitely feeding his existing problems, though.
It actually sounds like the treatment center he went to has the right ideas about drug treatment. Going for the problem and not just the drug use. It turns out he had to leave the treatment center early to complete probation! That's some fucked up drug law enforcement if you ask me.
I'm also calling bullshit on the quote from Oklahoma State University.

Very true! Indian smoke shops are probably the main selling point. Cigarettes are cheap almost to the point of ridiculous.
They've also got quite a few casinos, if gambling is a vice you enjoy!
