what are your feeling on it? What have you read or seen in other post. I know you have read/seen something or else you would not have asked a question to reaffirm something

dont spray..
mist..
and i wouldn't mist your cakes directly ever.. (unless you just dunk/rolled)
just mist into the FC..
it's not as bad when it's fruiting, but i believe it's harmful during the hyphal knot/pinning stage..

Wrong!! Mist away at all times. It does not hurt pinning/knot forming. It encourages it

i have directly misted some mycelium before and it causes it to shrink/recoil immediately..
i dont know exactly how bad that is for it, but i dont know how good it is for it either.. i dont believe it facilitates growth as much as having proper humidity levels and fresh air exchange..
but you keep doing what you're doing.. and i'll keep doing what i'm doing and we'll both be happy.

WEll you want the mycelium to stop growing and start pinning. So knocking it down/back like the rain does causes it to pin.
tell you what, Just spray one of your cakes

I sprayed the shit out of my cakes/fruits and they turned out just fine. You'd assume something 90% water.. would love water. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/7957998/an/0/page/0

As drkrobotnik said, never directly mist your cakes. Doing so will cause water droplets to form and suffocate out sections on the cake where pins may form by preventing FAE to that small part of mycelium.
Mist the side of the FC and wipe suspended water droplets off the lid daily to avoid this.

but not before it drowns out the mycelium RoYaL_ fLuSh
I should add (before any new guys begin trolling me further)
Dunking your cake is the same as a water droplet, but by rolling it in vermiculite the mycelium grows around it trying to take in as much water as possible, since it grows outward the bruised sections may no longer be in use but the new surface is fine.
phew!

i dunked my cakes for over 24 hours and they were completely submerged and the water froze over on top. The cakes were fine. I cant believe that hybridx gets away with this stuff.

I've had pins start (or at least grow larger), underwater while dunking.
