Well the reason I ask is that I am deciding on whether I should go digital (ala smart phone) or stick to plain jane book & pen.
I've used one before and to be honest it was quite useful in "tidying" up my day hehe.

I keep a pen with me and write everything on scraps of paper or on my hand. If I'm at my computer I'll type things on notepad and save it on my desktop.
I recently got a dry erase board for more of the same. It's mostly just covered with scribbles and random lists.

dry erase boards are good.
I have also been thinking of getting some sort of PDA. But i wasn't sure how much it would help me out and i'm not sure if i need another piece of equipment to walk around with.
My phone has an organizer, but its a bitch to input anything, so i never use it.

What objects are you proposing to yourself? Are they the objects you really value? If they are not, you are cheating yourself. I don't meant that if you chose to pursue the objects you most value, you will attain them; of course not. Your experience will tell you that. But success in getting after much labor what you really don't care for is the bitterest and most ridiculous failure." -George Santayana

I use windows mobile on my phone.
I was hesitant to switch to digital, but it offers a level of precision and accuracy that surpasses paper. Also, if your very busy, the phone can remind you of appointments.
