Dunking with primordia

i just birthed more jars and there are some large primordia on there. i am dunking them in my fridge and when i checked on them the larger primordia are becoming very loose, like barely hanging on by a thread of myc to the cake and i dont think those ones will grow. is dunking the cake in cold water going to damage or threaten the other primordia on the cake?

Some say to clean them all off before the dunk, some just leave them.
RR says they will not abort in a dunk.
BTW those primordia are the most potent mushies you will ever see per gram, assuming the genes are good.

My last cake dunking party was partially an experiment to prove/disprove this theory.
I harvested the big ones and left the pins on 6 cakes, and on the other 6 cakes, cleaned them completely..
I dunked all the cakes together for 24 hours then put them back in the fc...
Of all the little pins that got dunked, only 4 aborted. The rest started growing again within 12 hours and grew pretty damn fast too. They were loosley attached to the cake, but after a few days, they repaired their grip. I harvested these guys before the pinless cakes even started pinning....
I also noticed that these fruits that got dunked as pins turned out to be really dense fruits and I had to fan dry them for 48 hours to get them ready for the drying chamber.
So, from this experience, I will always leave pins when dunking. If they abort, they can be pulled off after dunking with less grief than before the dunk...

this was a pin before the dunk:

if that means anything..
also was very dense and took a long long time to dry.

Lets think about it. In the wild it rains. Sometimes it rains for 24 hours straight. Sometimes there will be mushroom primordia just at surface level and they will be submerged for 24 hours because of the rain and they are just fine
