Substrate Colonizing Temperatures

Ok. First, I apologize about this posting, as I know there are tons of threads about this topic, but nothing is too consistent. I have been doing some reading about this, and I have come across a grip of seemingly conflicting answers. Some people say room temperature (75) to 84 degrees for colonizing. Still others say that after 83 degrees, growth slows down dramatically. Don't ask me to quote, because there's no way I could find it. So, are these temps substrate temps, or air temps? This shit is confusing to me. :/ Anyway, I am wanting to achieve near optimum conditions for my babies, so any help would be appreciated. Currently my TiT air temp is 76.2. Does this work? Thanks.
Eh.

Don't let your room get over 76 degrees. Room temp is fine for the entire cycle.
Your myc can be up to about 5 degrees warmer than the room the FC is in, some claim 10, so your FC should never get to 80, and the room your FC is in should never get over 76, IMHO, and others.
The myc will slow down around 82-84, that's when the myc itself is at 82-84, maybe a little higher, and since it is warmer than your room and warmer than your FC by at least a few degrees, you should keep your room at 68-76, IMHO.
Room temps over 76 degrees will risk running your myc hotter than is optimal.
Temps that are warmer than optimal will favor contams and will dry out your sub faster.

Take into consideration that glass jars produce a 5f ambient heat, then take a room level temperature reading, combine these variables and properly set your TiT accordingly. I have mine set for precisely 78f and all is well.
