Does smoking cannabis make you have vivid dreams? Or no dreams at all?

What are the other outcomes?

I smoke cannabis and I sometimes dream?

I usually have vivid dreams when I stop smoking weed for a few days.

you can dream and cannabis not have any effect on your dreams..

or it can sometimes affect it and sometimes not..

plenty of other options.

here's what you did:

statement = smoking cannabis causes vivid dreams

Poll:
statement = true = smoking cannabis always causes vivid dreams
statement = false = you never dream/cannabis never has an effect

when, in reality, it's highly unlikely that either of those is possible.

i'm just bein a dick, dont take it too seriously

Another options is no effects either way.

Personally, I think the effect depends on the frequency of use.

I don't know from personal experience, but infrequent smoking might lead to more vivd dreams.

Chronic use on the other hand has a very strong anecdotal correlation with suppressing vivid dreams/the ability to remember them. It makes sense then that its common for people ceasing chronic cannabis use to have uncomfortably vivd dreams for a while, until their neurochemistry gets back to normal.

This isn't to say you never have vivd dreams with weed. I smoked a ton last night listening to the Dead streaming live from the Warfield, and last night I had a crazy vivid dream where my cat was sitting on a dock and got spooked, fell into a river, and I was pulling her out of the rievr... sight, sound, smell, touch were all there... my girlfriend woke me up because I was moaning in my sleep and asked me if everything was alright. I didn't answer til I checked the foot of the bed to make sure my cat was still there. But this is the first dream I've remembered in many months, so I'll stick with the "No I don't dream at all" option.

i dont smoke marijuana at all by the way

i had a dream where i got stoned last night.. and woke up this morning and my eyes were red and glazed like they used to be when i used to get stoned..

weird, huh?

i dreamed when i smoked. but in the past 5 months that i havent smoked, my dreams got exponentially more vivid and i can remember them a lot easier as well. for me it seems cannabis definitely has a dulling effect on the dream state, but thats not to say i had no dreams at all when i smoked.

It depends, really. If I smoke weed once, after a period of abstinence, I have insane dreams. If I smoke daily, I stop dreaming altogether then have really vivid dreams once I stop.
