I am registered as independent and in my state, independents cannot vote in primaries.

I voted for Obama.

Somehow many at the shroomery have convinced themselves that Ron Paul is the candidate that could save America, but even besides his inelectability (real word?), he isn't the best candidate. His ideas are radical and half baked, although I do like his policy of non-intervention.

Honestly it's not even about which platform you agree with more. When it comes to being in office non of these people are actually going to do exactly what they said they would. A good president will adapt to the circumstances, regardless of whether the correct decision is in accordance with their platform.

For instance, Ron Paul says he will never raise taxes. That's fucking stupid. Sometimes you need to raise taxes. Even Ronald Regan raised taxes in '86, and he's the great conservative icon of trickle down economics.

I don't want any party name attached to my name, and I don't believe in any one candidate enough to go through that ten minute process.

I wouldn't have guessed that's who you'd vote for.

Individual freedom/responsibility FTW.

Though I dont agree with many of his ideas, for example the gold standard. No thanks. Fiat FTW.
