But unfortunately I don't.

in all honesty tho psytrance isnt raving its a differnt ball game its like calling a metal show a hippie jam fest.  theres people that might go to both and they are both types of rock but differnt ball games. do you can cosider a baseball game the same as a foot ball game just cause they both have balls?

any who psytrance people have a differnt way of life. shambhala and eclipse are sick ones in canada i wish i went to orb fest i would of gone for free and gotten a cabin and passed it up lol to rave, i seriously care more about the rave community then the psytrance cause psytrance people can get way freakier while ravers just get hardcore

they are only similar in that loud electronic music is being played all night at high volumes. most psytrancers are former ravers. the crowds at psytrance parties are definitely smaller but a more close knit group where there is a real sense of connection and everyone gets a chance to meet each other.

we have underground raves as well with a good crowd of people but half of them are the psytrancers! in fact we have raves here where the first night is all acid trance/acid house and psytrance then the second night is house, dubstep ect.

a lot of so called raves mostly seem commercial now. they are in clubs or big concert venues and they have a bunch of drunk douchebags thrown in for good measure. i never made any real friends raving. it seemed like everyone was so caught up in their fake happiness from MDMA and seeking a selfish sort of pleasure we never made genuine connections. the numbers i would get at the club didn't seem worth calling the next day after the E was gone.

with psytrance it felt like we were co-creating an experience, a community. through the long hours of trance dancing in our ritual we shared a heightened consciousness that surpassed the feelings i have felt at any rave. the bond lasted beyond those events. we all know eachother in the scene and party at eachother's houses. we are really good friends, though we may have our disagreements, dramas ect.

psytrance has connected me with people who live very wholesome and interesting lifestyles (vegans, yogis, meditators, artists) whereas most ravers i found were just people who seemed kind of lost or were just there to get wasted fuck up.

Sometimes the ticket price has to be expensive.  You can't expect to get world famous deejay's, a venue large enough to hold several thousand people, and then all the equipment and man-hours that go into putting the whole thing together, and then charge only 10$.

However, you're lucky; it's usually not worth it to go to a massive like that.  I don't like them anyway.  I did when I was like 17, but these days I would hate it.

Did anyone here go to this year's Mutek?

I do't think I could put up with the bullshit at a rave, so I never had an interest in going. Plus I'm not a fan of the music, or ecstasy, or sluts.

I'm standing next to my friend in the neon green/yellow hat in the first few seconds. Me and 12 other people were on mescaline.

Mescaline isn't a good club drug, but it was still immensely enjoyable.

The venue was this huge building called the Funplex in Houston. Definitely the tightest indoor venue I've been too. They had bumper cars, and a ferris wheel that were free to ride.

The event was called Funtastic Voyage 2. It was pretty awesome. DJ Dara and AK1200 were there. AK's decent, but Dara is one of my favorite DnB dj's. They also had some dj's spinning really tight dubstep, and electro house.

Im in Australia dude, otherwise i'd be there! Im planning a trip to the US next year sometime, so ill have to get in touch with some of you and figure out where to go.

I went to Sasha and Diggers in 05/06, they rocked it but haven't seen them since.

Digweed has played here since then, but only at big outdoor commercial festivals. They are packed to the walls with wankers who have no idea about good music so i choose not to go.

Sasha however will be pimp in November, can't wait.
