umm you can usually find there... and the more you to go, you will start to remember people and know exactly who to go to. my first rave i went with thedudenj and he introduced me to someone who goes to all the raves he can get to. after that it was easy, i just go to him everytime.

i dont think its ever really openly cause regaurdless thats silly manners tho im sure its done here or there depends on the situation and where you are

I too was a lil raver girl. Introduced young into the Detroit rave scene at about 14. I'm 25 now. When I was intoduced into the "scene" I got to pretty much experience the tail end of the era and was grateful and awed to witness what we had before it was destroyed.
I say that because the "raves" nowaday's are NOTHING in comparison on ANY level.
I got to see Richie Hawtin's legenday Control parties, parties in the Packard Plant, Chop House, Masonic Temple, under the Ambassador bridge was a great spot. One night the police arrived to check everything out, they ended up turning on the lights and bobbing they're heads standing beside their patrol cars. Totally digging it. This was before the Patriot Act. Now you'll get your head smashed in if the Detroit Vice squad shows. Expect to be thrown on the ground with a rifle in your neck. Car towed, tickets handed out. I'm not kidding. To get an idea how Detroit did back in the day, a few old heads came up with this website. http://onlyndetroit.com/html/rave/rave.htm
Now I still goto clubs and some afterhours, but I'm much more careful, as things have changed drastically around the city.
Side note: When I first started going to raves, I didn't do anything but smoke weed. The people I went with were very good friends who had rolled before but since I was so young, they kept me away from it and that allowed me to appreciate the music and the party atmosphere without beign fucked up. Hell I didn't even take my first pill til I was 22. I wouldn't have it any other way.

dude under the George Washington bridge is a sick rave spot with out a doubt the only thing i dont like about under bridges tho is they are so dirty... so many people tho its nuts. some cops was at that one but he was off duty and jus doin it up.
tho yeah ravin sober is amazing tho its totally not by the books sober at all cause the music and vibes get you and sometimes thats can hit you harder then any drugs. Some raves i dont even feel the drugs unless its good enough like one where i took rolls and didnt feel them til DJ spree laid down some sweet hardcore ^.^ then other times the hardcore alone makes me roll sober so shurg

Donno if I qualify as a raver, but I really really love psytrance. Dancing to that stuff blisses me out even straight.
When I lived in New York, there WAS a psytrance scene there, but it's nowhere near as big as in Berlin, where I live now. Electronic music gets way more respect in Germany than the U.S. There are several psytrance parties every WEEK in Berlin alone. The first time I showed up to one some kid immediately asked me what my favourite drug was and gave me a tab of acid -- it's a lot more open here, that kind of thing never happened to me in the U.S. Everyone is understandably paranoid there.
And during the summer forget about it, there are a million psytrance festivals and a metric fuckton of magic substances which your nice fellow European partygoers tend to share readily. Had the best trip of my life at a festival in the middle of a forest on a mountain. Makes it worth slogging through North German winter...
