UK. The rave scene looks immense back in SA so if I get bored I might head back there.

CB's my jammy jam though <3

We all should organize a Shroomery.org meetup at CB7
Also: Cyber ravers don't = kandi kids. They're very similar but cyber kids tend to be more... ya know.. "cyber". Slightly gothy, darker, industrial, think L.E.D's not Pony Beads Drum n bass is good driving music, but it's not exactly exciting enough to get me to drive/train very far. It's aight. The amount of assholes dust heads and jocks is also a HUGE turn-off. There's nothing like bumming a drag off some one's newport and finding out it's a dippy to ruin your good time.
oh and this http://www.rud-gr.net/wallpaperfolders/wallpapers-music/2005/Sensation_White_2005_01.jpg might be a Radical Audio Visual Experience, but it's definitely not a rave. Any event that involves Stadium Seating, in my opinion, should not be called a rave. You might as well ask the DJ to take your pills for you and tell you about it later.

(IMO)if you end up smoking a cig that was dipped that is your own fault.Go buy your own and then you will know that it was not dipped in anything.I also see you talking about the DJ taking your pills?I dont go to party's to "take" pills I go for the love of the music ,if you are going to raves to get fucked up that is sad,you can do that siting in your living room, you need to go to party's to have a good time and get high off the vibe.SUPPORT THE SCENE NOT THE DRUG1I dont know maybe I am getting old when I started going to raves over 10 years ago I use to like to get fucked up at partys, but I sarted noticing all the kids who were coming there and using the party as an excuss to get wasted and using the venue as if it was an opium house.laying around in the middle of the floor getting in peoples way, throwing up all over the place from taking to many pills. It was a sad sight to me.The super sad sight was when the good drugs left the partys and so did half the crowd:( I am all about geting fucked up but I dont need "Pills" to have a good time:)and yet again there is another reason why I love DNB,you dont see all the candy kids and most of the people in the crowd are there to listen to there fav. Dj spin and enjoy the vibe.

yes I was, am a raver!!! not you're typical raver... I am very unique in the sense that I was once a major part of Clevelands beginning rave scene. I was a majo part of spawntaneous production company and actually spin drum-n-bass to this day on my outdated tech 1200's with some ak1200 vinal mixed with some old school...Actually was friends with the Sean.. now know as Dieselboy..I helped put together many parties supplying sound helping Centex lazers and stuff, so There ya go I was an major player in the rave scene. but I don't know if I was a raver or a money maker?? While I would definetly enjoy a decent dose of the pure MDA I made not MMDA I prefered the di-branched chain... back too the point my pawns would work the scene, this helping to fuel more parties. The all night madness eventually got to much you got to grow up sometime and well when I was in the scene we didn't have candi-ravers just some addidas clothing and god beats..but I still enjoyed the music and got into it.Although I would consider myself mostly --Homo-Sapien-- peace out__:)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Psychedelic trance or psytrance is a form of electronic music characterized by hypnotic arrangements of synthetic rhythms and mesmerizing melodies. Hmmm... not techno? do you see the key word that links them together?
they are both forms of electronica, not trance.
i don't think techno has the same beat pattern as psytrance. trance (in general) uses a driving bass line that repeats the same 8 beats for 4 measures and changes.
vs
this
huge difference of psytrance vs techno.
see psy doesn't = techno.
(sorry, hope i am not being offensive, i just don't like it when people call psytrance techno, because drum and bass isn't happy hardcore is it??)

Thanks, I've never heard the "I've been raving for so long that I burnt out the fun part and now I just go because I have no better way to entertain myself" speech before...
Sorry. I like Ecstasy. I liked Ecstasy before I started raving. Then, I realized how fucking AWESOME it is to do it with hundreds of other people.
Obviously, it's not the only facet of raving. I do roll at home. More often than I do at raves, actually. But there's no denying the fact that doing it in the most fun environment imaginable is an incredibly rewarding experience.
As far as the comment about having the dj take your pills and tell you about it later, you clearly didn't get the gist of my post. Re read it, I'm not gonna restate it.
Oh, and I'm not about getting fucked up. That's why I don't drink. I roll.

Drug use ruins every scene because most people are just too uncouth to handle things that make your experience feel *special*, and not mentally prepared to integrate that kind of experience into their life responsably
It's just an unfortunate, unavoidable bi-product.
Drugs have 'ruined' the rave scene several times over; there's just a lot of childlike styles today that make it easy to make fun of and be turned off by.
Admit it, people puking and laying on the floor is just what happens when lots of people get faced. It happened when you were doing it too. It can't be that different, aside from the stuffed animals, the amount of beads used, and the evolution from hhc/dnb being the same genre to two completely specialized fully developed genres.

it happened when I was doing it but I was not laying on the floor and puking I knew my limit and did not go past that limit at partys.

No offense but that last one isnt techno at all is happycore.
This is techno
Happy hardcore started out with drum and bass beats. Learn the history

Jungle is what got me into it back in the mid 90's...good times were had and then turn of the century ruined it for me when they started playing dance tracks on the radio that were hardly Rave worthy and they were advertising for parties sponsored by Toyota and Pepsi...
I may seem like an old fool, but that was my time for the fun...I'm sure it is the same for people just getting into it perhaps...
I wouldn't have traded those times for anything though...Definatley made me who I am today...
There is nothing like walking up to a warehouse with the ground shaking from the bass with your friends in tow...

truth speak.
great thing is that these days one can have more influence over what goes down.
i hope the next 2 years culls a lot of the shit that is common place and accepted as being 'good'.
