hi all, my home's only source of heat is a wood stove. i leave during the day and temperatures in the house can drop to those outside. sometimes becoming very cold (20-30) this time of year. my problem is maintaining temperatures inside my terrarium despite rapid temperature changes in the room.
i was thinking about trying an aquarium heater. any opinions on these? would an aquarium heater submerged in a quart jar of water inside the terrarium + perlite put off too mush humidity?
my other idea was placing the terrarium inside a closet and using a space heater.
any suggestions greatly appreciated. thanx.

go for the aquarium heater idea to achieve a constant temperature.. or look up the 'heatbomb tek' the perlite isn't necessary..
but, as far as your poll..

welcome to shroomery.

hell yes when i was in the rockies i did everything in double tubs with high wattage fish tank heaters and water circulates ( the cheap submersible kind for decorative waterfalls) with the best results i have every had. i wish i lived where it was "too cold". its allot easier to heat then cool in my opion

if your temps are going to drop to the 20-30's like you said you should just invest in a space heater and a closet/open room. The TiT Aquarium Heater is going to have a tough time keeping temps at mid 70s when the outside air is mid 20's IMO.
